Horie Yui is a very pretty young lady who has taken part in many voice acting roles in a variety of anime. She is most famously known for her work as Multi from To Heart, Honda Tohru from Fruits Basket & Narusegawa Naru from Love Hina.

Seiyuus, like actors, need to land in the perfect role in order to get noticed and boost their career. Horie Yui is no different. Her first debut was in a video game called "Voice of Fantasia" way back in 1997 and after that she did many other minor roles. Very normal. It's how many new voices start out. She got her first big break when she landed the role as a female andriod named Multi on a PC game called To Heart and as the game and character gained popularity, so did she. After this booming success she landed her MOST famous role in a very popular anime Love Hina. She did not just land a role in the incredibly popular anime, but she in fact got the lead as Narusegawa Naru. After that she was on a roll as she landed yet another famous role, again taking the lead, as Honda Tohru from Fruits Basket. It is in Fruits Basket that I was first exposed to Horie Yui's talents. It is further along Fruits Basket that I downloaded the opening song and discovered a special version sung by none other than Honda Tohru, Horie Yui herself. Wow. This girl isn't just a cute voice actor, she's also a singer O_o.

Her voice is usually most suited for young, hyper and cheerful girl roles. Her voice is very cute but not overly squeaky and not overly sugary. It's just right. <3<3<3 However, as of late, she has proved to us all that she is also capable of taking a more mature role as she landed the voice of the elegant rich girl Sawachika Eri in School Rumble.

Her acting/singing voice matches perfectly the characters she portrays which makes the characters all the more believable. Very adorable and soothing in both voicing and singing. She currently has a quite a number of albums and many singles/albums based off of character images songs or Op/Ed theme songs.

Luckily, she not only sounds good, but she looks good too which definately helps with her popularity. She is possibly one of the hottest seiyuu idols right now. She can be found in many magazines and live events. Also, she amazingly looks A LOT, almost identical to Honda Tohru. In fact, I am convinced Horie Yui IS Honda Tohru. ^^;
